Welcome back to NCWC!

The Science Club Page!

Science Club helped Dr. Kosal's Environmental Science Class clean up the Nature Trail last semester.

Science Club's identity is composed of these goals: increase scientific awareness in the community and bring science students together. The community includes this campus, our families and Rocky Mount citizens. Science students encompass anyone who expresses interest in any field of science.

We have long term goals. We’d like to clean up the Nature Trail and the Green House. We’d also like to start recycling on campus so that is becomes integrated into routine, replace incandescent light bulbs with more eco-friendly and efficient, CFL bulbs.

Science professors have spoken with us about creating curriculum activities and volunteer opportunities for local schools.

We’d also like to do more hands-on activities with the professors here and take advantage of our local North Carolina environment and resources. Our idea here is to increase real-world experience and aid in networking for post-college goals with our members. We hope to make a visit to the Aquarium, canoe at Merchant Mill Pond, maybe go on a geology dig or visit the local hospital.

We have about 20 members and recently voted in two officers. Members include Biology, Chemistry, Pre-med, and non-Science majors.

We have a small history but big goals, big ideas!
